A Capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman -
who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than
jewels and her value is far above rubies or

him only good as long as there is life within her. -
Proverbs

A HUSBAND of
FAITH's Perspective
Each month, my husband, Robert will give his
perspective on our monthly theme. Keep in mind that our theme goes
hand in hand with our Wives of Faith Monthly Challenge. It is a
real blessing for us as wives to gain the perspective of a Christian
husband. I hope this blesses you as much as it does me as I
interview him and gain a better understanding of my husband and men
in general.
Note: Only a little snippet of the column
will be featured in the newsletter. You will want to click on the
link at the end of the snippet to read the actual column!
Ways
we can show kindness to our Husbands:
- Greet him at the door
with a kiss and a big smile.
- Tell him you
appreciate him.
- Give him a chance to
unwind after work.

To Be Kind
or Not to Be Kind...That IS the Question! By: Lara
Velez
Kindness: good, sympathetic,
considerate, accommodating, amiable, caring, compassionate, gentle,
gracious, obliging, tender, and thoughtful.
It can be a very hard thing for a wife...even a
Christian wife to be kind to her husband.
There are times when the men God gave us are just plain annoying,
mean, unkind to us, or what we deem as "unworthy" of our kindness.
Unfortunately, God does not tell us in His Word...be kind "if." He
makes His will and desire for our lives very clear.
Why should we be kind? The Word tells us to!
Let us begin with our Core Scripture:
She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her
tongue is the law of kindness. ~
Proverbs 31:26
The original Hebrew words for kindness in this text are
chacad (khaw-sad') and checed
(kheh'-sed) and mean; to be kind, merciful, good deed, kindness,
pity, favor, and loving kindness.
A wise wife follows the Word. She is obedient to
what the Lord tells her. This Scripture teaches us, WISE
wives of faith, that kindness is what should be coming out
of us. Kindness is what we should have on our mouths.
Kindness is what we should be thinking about. HOW
can I be kind to MY husband today should be something we TRAIN
ourselves to think.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with
brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; ~
Romans 12:10 (KJV)
And become useful and helpful and kind to
one another, tenderhearted, compassionate, understanding,
loving-hearted, forgiving one another readily and freely, as God in
Christ forgave you. ~ Ephesians 4:32
Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His
own picked representatives), purified and holy and well-beloved by
God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by tenderhearted pity and
mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves,
gentle ways, and patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and
has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].
~ Colossians 3:12
I encourage you to look up Kind, Kindness, and Kindly in your
concordance. Begin to study these words and Scriptures. Find
examples of kindness in God's Word and ASK God to HELP you to be
kind to the man that He gave you to share your life with.
Have a WONDERFUL Month of KINDNESS!
In Him,
Lara ;)

Wives of Faith Health Watch
Each month
will feature health related articles and tips to help you keep
yourself, husband, and family as healthy as God
intended!
Allergens that could be Hiding in Your Home
Do you get sick often? Do you feel tired and sluggish during the
day? The problem could very well be allergy related. Even if you are
the cleanest wife on planet earth, they can still be polluting your
home and air.
Here are just a few of the common allergy offenders.
Dust
This is one of the worst enemies for allergy sufferers. It hides
in your bed, carpets, and floats around in the air. Below are some
simple steps to help get the dust out from hiding and out of your
home.
- Get rid of carpets. If you can’t, vacuum with a hypoallergenic
vacuum if at all possible. Also, wash your carpets often. If you
have rugs on our hard floors, be sure to wash or steam clean them
regularly.
- Get allergy covers for mattresses and pillows.
- Wash or steam clean your sheets and drapes frequently.
- Get a HEPA filter for your furnace and change it
often.
Pollen
We usually associate pollen with the great outdoors, but it can
get tracked inside on clothes, hair and pets. During peak pollen
season, take a few steps to keep it out of the house.
- Wash pets regularly.
- Install a HEPA filter in your house and change it regularly.
- Dry clothes and bedding indoors.
- Keep windows and doors closed.
- Keep grass around your house short. Take extra care to remove
weeds as soon as possible.
Mold
While you may be able to see and get rid of mold growing in your
house, chances are there’s probably a lot where you can’t see
it.
- Use a HEPA filter in your furnace and vacuum.
- Keep the humidity in your house low. If it gets above 55%, you
should use a dehumidifier.
- Keep your bathroom clean and dry. Open a window or turn on a
fan after a shower or bath. Clean tile and shower curtains often.
- Use mold-inhibiting paint in your basement.
Pet Dander
We love our pets. Since there are very few hypo-allergenic pet
breeds, if you want animals in your house, you have to take extra
steps to stay healthy.
- Use a HEPA filter in your furnace and your vacuum.
- Don’t allow pets in your bedroom. This will keep you from
breathing in dander while you’re sleeping, which is where you
spend most of your time when your at home. If you can’t keep your
door closed all the time, most pets can be kept out using baby
safety gates.
- Buy a lint roller and a large stock of refills. You can roll
your clothes if you hug or cuddle your pet. You can also use it to
remove fur from furniture and blankets.
- Neuter males, this will reduce the amount of dander.
- Get rid of carpets if possible or vacuum them often.
While it might take a bit of work to get rid of the allergens in
your home, you’ll feel so much better. It will be well worth the
effort.
